01: Poster

Every three months, the Globe Gallery at People's Liberty features a new installation produced by their current Globe Grant winner. Located in a neighborhood that has a longstanding Final Friday art celebration, People's Liberty sought to raise the Globe Gallery's profile by establishing the opening night of each exhibit as a go-to destination on Final Friday.

We needed to build hype for an event no one had heard of before at a location much of the community was still unfamiliar with. Rather than see these challenges as obstacles to fight against, we embraced them as a means to inform the visual style: dark, cryptic, and alluding to the lo-fi aesthetic of DIY propaganda.

02: Guerrilla Campaign

To further promote the event, a guerrilla campaign was developed in collaboration with Bryan Goodpaster, Creative Director of LPK's Trends Unit.

Reaching our target demographic of offbeat creatives called for an equally offbeat solution. Thus, two-hundred pouches containing a mysterious capsule and claim ticket were inconspicuously placed in public spaces around Cincinnati for anyone to find.

Housed in the capsule was a single strip of paper stating only a date, time, and address. The claim ticket was coated with a scrap piece of the material (dichroic film) used in the gallery installation itself and, if brought to the event, could be exchanged for a special takeaway.

03: Keepsake

The night of the event, branded pin-back buttons were given out as souvenirs.
